I have a question about a bolt on the engine cover.

Open the hood and the engine has a big black plastic cover over it. One of the bolts that holds it in place does not seem to screw into anything. It is the bolt at the bottom left (toward the front of the vehicle on the passenger side). I lifted the cover up a little and there doesn't seem to be anyplace for that bolt to screw into, but I don't like the fact that the cover can lift up there a little bit/vibrate.

Does the Helm manual say anything about that screw?

I figured it out.

The shaft of the bolt in question is broken. Half is still threaded into the flange, and the other half is spinning freely in the hole in the cover.

Thank you all for you help. I'll stop by the dealer on the way home to get a replacement bolt.

What really ticked me off is that I didn't discover it until I got home.

When we went to pick up the van, everything was open including the hood. There were about 6 salesmen buzzing around it because it was the first 2002 model that they had seen up close and personal.

After a quick peek at the engine, I closed the hood to do a paint inspection since our van is Starlight Silver. I didn't open the hood back up to look around until I got home, and that's when I noticed it.
