Hi everyone,
what is the best way to order some spare car keys without going though the dealer. I think they charge $25 for a spare car key. They told me that there is a computer chip inside so you can only buy original. Please advise. Thank you, Robert....

P.S I am also looking for a good deal on fog light any suggestions? I don't want to spend more then $200 for it. It also has to be compatible with the EX and easy installation.

Robert,
As far as I know, you can only get spare keys from the dealer. The dealer is correct by saying that there is a chip in the key. This is a security measure to match your key with your ignition. If you notice when you slide your key in the ignition, there is a green key light that flashes on the gauge cluster.
Hope that helps.

I agree, I'm looking for driving lights, and I'm not about to pay $350 for Honda's. I prefer PIAA. It seems like you could buy aftermarket lights, the switch from Honda, and somehow wire them into the harness/plug that is already in the bumper. I have not yet checked this out though, I just picked up the ody last night and found this site two days ago.

Where is this green light? None flashes when I slide my key into the ignition. The dome light comes on when I remove the key.

The green light, as I recall, is in the middle of the instrument cluster (slightly off to the right) and near the top. Just stick your key into the ignition, turn it to the two, and the green light should appear.

Tim, there is no harness in the bumper if your van isn't equipped with fog lights. That's not a major problem, but I thought you'd like to know. Whatever lights you install will require the installation of the associated wiring.

Thanks for the replies. I knew about the light coming on when the key is turned to II, but I thought from reading the post that the light flashed on when the key was inserted. I must have interpreted it wrong.
