In my Helm manual, the 99-01 version, the oil recommendation chart allows 10W-30 oil to be used for temperatures above 20 degrees F. The owner's manual does not mention 10W-30, so I thought it was interesting to find it mentioned and approved in the Helm. For those in very hot climates, it might offer some advantage over the 5W-30, since there would be a lesser amount of viscosity improvers in it and it might create fewer deposits, in the conventional oils, of course. There would probably be little advantage, if one used synthetic oil.
