The mute switch for the kids is already installed in the driver's seat, but it's effectiveness seems unreliable and intermittent, at least in my van.

Ok guys! I guess Honda would say :" you'll have to pay $35,000 ++ ....."

I wish the germans would really consider making a minivan to compete with the US and the Japs. By then, all these details and precisions would be standard.

That would be the M-Class. My wife has one and loves it. She's always said she hates vans (particularly minivans) and I keep reminding her how much that thing looks more like a minivan than most minivans.
* Auto-off ALL lighting after 15 minutes
* Driver (at least) memory seat
* Touchpad keyless entry
* Smaller outside dimensions - at least shorter.
* Larger inside volume (don't laugh - everybody is achieving this now. But this one isn't as important to me as the smaller outside dimensions)
* MUCH lower weight
* Better gas mileage
* Faster power doors that are "smarter."
* One-button remote all-unlock
* User-settable remote
* Interior/exterior temp
* Trip computer
* Auto down & up on both front windows
* NAV screen higher on the dash for better horizon view.
* Ability to have RES AND NAV
* Electrochromatic mirrors (all three)
* Optional 3-across seating for second row
* And of course, lower price

Hey, this is imprtant stuff to me since I'll be in the market again in two years!

Japan or Japanese is probably what you meant.
 • Less road noise!
 • Middle seats can be flipped down from either side, not just one lever on one side
 • Optional combination outside door lock
 • Smudgeless/scratchproof plates around door handles
 • Stronger, smudgeproof plate for hand closing rear hatch
 • Passenger side power seat
 • Digital control for rear temperature
 • Battery drain protection (autoshutoff interior lights)
 • Optional heated mirrors in US models, not just in Canada
 • Educated, honest dealer sales reps!
 • Improved customer survey, not susceptible to dealer fixing
 • Fix the sloshing noise from the gas tank
 • Mirror or other device to allow the driver to see right behind the rear bumper
 • Improved access for swapping speakers and other electronic gadgets
 • Recognition of www.odyclub.com

Here is what I think that the ody needs:
*Standerd Foglights
*Daytime headlights
*Auto off headlights
*Standerd Cassette and cd
*electrochromatic mirrors with temp/direction
*Better Gas milage
*Better quality speakers and stereo
*Larger DVD screen
*Third row split bench(can fold half/full seat down)

Maugham, your list was excellent with the exception of the foregoing. If you're experiencing a substantial amount of variation in that region, I'd suggest consulting a physician. I believe this would require some type of implantable device and is beyond the capability of Honda engineers.

Maybe its the ethanol in the fuel?

LOL! But then isn't it "up to 10%" in our area? I suspect the pepperoni they're putting in our pizzas (does it to me every time).

Nobody has mentioned those front seat armrests, me thinks that they should lock at different angles so that they are adjustable depending on the seat back level. This is one feature that I miss from my '97 Odyssey.

Lumbar support for at least the driver's seat!

Also a telescoping as well as up down adjustable steering wheel.

Some type of interior light auto off after some amount of time. This would override the individual reading light control.
I have found my Ody's battery dead twice from this.

Everything else is covered by others.

-AQRAD (see previous response for description)
-rear sensing safety device like the Ford Windstar has
-armrest adjustors (things are too darn low)
-better gas mileage
-more dealers selling at MSRP or UNDER
-www.odyclub.com discounts for repeat buyers
-larry's llama liner as an optional Honda accessory
-better speakers, standard 8-way Alpine system maybe (ok, I can dream)
-memory seating and mirrors
-internal/external temperature
-Standard cross-bars for EX
-5 yr/60,000 mile warranty
-no paint protection/undercoating rackets

After taking our first trip in the Ody:

- 4WD or AWD
- More Power Outlets
- Light in Glove Box
- Floor lights for front seats (helpful when you drop something)
- Power Seats for Front Passenger
- Digital Compass
- Day-time Running Lights in USA
- Outside Temperature Guage
- AutoTemp for Rear (Like Front in EX since infants & young children are incapable of communicating comfort level)
- Outside handle (like side handles) for closing rear hatch
- RES and NAV together
- CD/DVD changer to avoid movie swaps while driving
- Backup sensor
- Factory installed fog lights

Was considering a $45K Suburban before settling on the Odyssey, so I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for these extras.

Things to drop from the Ody:
- The cassette player in EXL-RES
- Greedy & ignorant dealers

How about the following for the vans!

1. Keyless touch pad-entry system.
2. Outside/Inside temp gauge.
3. A skinner window brace to eliminate my
blind spots!!
4. An on board computer hooked to the
display that will gives you all the
answers to your Odyssey. Including gas
mileage, travel miles left, etc..
5. A better center console that has storage.
6. Velco for the floor mats so they stop
creeping.
7. An additional large coin holder if you
have the ashtray.
8. How about a built in garbage can.

All in all I need a chauffer to drive us around.
6.
