I have a 2006 odyssey with about 163000 miles on it. I had it tuned up at about 140k miles and there was oil on one of the spark plugs. It also got a new torque converter at 65k miles and now I am feeling some symptoms of impending transmission problems. It's eating a little oil but not much. But on the whole, it is still running very good. Is it time to trade or sell? It's the model right under the touring model so it has nav, DVD, leather. I am fairly good on maintenance and very very good on oil changes.

Could the oil on the plug be coming from a leaking head gasket seal? That probably isn't too expensive to fix, or, just inspect it every few months to see if it is getting worse.

As far as the tranny goes, if it fails you will look at what, $3K - $4K? That, vs. the difference between trade and a new one you might as well hold on to it as long as everything else is mechanically sound.

Anyhow, just my 2 cents....

I hate trading known problems for unknown.

You're still a lot of miles away from saving money by upgrading.
