hi i want to remove my rear window tint, but upon closer inspection there seems to be no tint to remove, the tint came from the factory!

so my question is, is the factory tint actually a tint or a dye?

On the EX models, the rear tint is in the glass. There is not film to remove as with aftermarket tint.

ok thanks! so the only option i have is to replace the whole glass with an aftermarket one! which would be to expensive! i wonder why honda went this route

It doesn't peel or get damaged as it ages is why. Plus with the heater lines in the glass the tint film can discolor.

I don't think I've ever seen a van or SUV that came from the factory with any kind of film. The factory tint is almost always part of the glass. I'm not sure you would even be able to find a non-tinted aftermarket glass for the 2nd gen Ody. The only 2nd gen Odys I've ever seen without tint, were a limited production of cargo vans during the early 2nd gen years. Might be different in Canada though.
