Has anyone thought about a tire pressure monitor system for your Odyssey. I just purchased Smartire's 2nd generation system with remote panel from Ody Club advertiser Tire Rack (see ad on forum title page). It looks sweet!

Wow. That's sweet. Great use of technology. Let us know how it works out after you install it!

p.s.-just one thought I had... So I guess you really have to keep track of tire color/locations after you rotate so you don't ever get confused at the display!

Steve, why didn't you go for the 1st gen? I notice it includes the LCD display already; no need to purchase an additional $49 module.

Was there someting about the gen2 that made it that much better? I'm on the fence; being the cheap bastard; the $199 w/ everything included looks like a better deal.
I went with the 2nd generation because of panel size and better display. Besides it's a newer design, so it must be better! ;-}

Four cans of cheap spray paint for the tires will fix that problem. Look cool too!

Nice system. I too, would be temted to go with the first gen though. Even more accurate than the second gen for some reason. Cheap SOB factor here too.

Quick question for you tire pressure monitor guys: anyone have run flat tires, or are you using standard tires?

Also, looks like the 2nd gen sensors are smaller. The ad says the sensors themselves are 1.5 oz. each in the 2nd gen, while the review of the 1st gen said the sensor, balance and clamp are total 7 oz added weight to each wheel.

It appears from the pic of the 2nd gen system that counterweights are not required. Looks like the clamp/tightener have enough mass to counterbalance, I presume...So rolling weight and inertia are a plus for the 2nd gen.

And, of course, the display seems to look better on the 2nd gen.

Or look at it like Star Trek, isn't the "Next Generation" much better than the original?
