For those of you who put on winter tires when the time comes do you have a second set of rims? I do because my tires kept getting damaged after so many season changeovers. But a fellow today at a tire place told me my tires should have never gone through the wear and tear of a changeover if it had been done properly. I'm not sure that I believe him. I need winter tires for my new 2011 Ody but now I'm not sure if I should bother with rims too. Any thoughts?

I am in the opposite situation that you are in: I've never had damage from tire swaps, but I am now looking to get rims to save money.

The longest I had tires were the winters on our last car and they lasted 7 years and 12 swaps. They were on the car when we gave it as trade in for our Odyssey. No damage to them or to the summers tires they shared duty with...

When you say damage, what do you mean?
