Well, after 138K it's time for a new transmission for my 2001 Odyssey. P0740 code, slipping, check engine and TCS lights, you know the story.

I'm looking for any good shops or experiences in the Fairfield County, CT area. The quotes I'm getting ($4K for a Jasper) seem high compared to what I've seen here. Thanks for any response.

I'd ditch it, but 2 months ago I did the timing belt, struts, water pump, etc. to the tune of $3500, so I guess I'll get the tranny done and hopefully be good for a few years.

I seem to remember the dealership only charges about $3600 and that's in the high priced NY metro area. However, mine was fixed under warranty so I never saw the actual price. $4k for a Jasper seems kind of high (unless Jasper is better than the Honda remanufactured?).

Jasper is better than the Honda remanufacture. Call to Jasper and get a list of the local stores and call around for a possibly better price.
