The other day I noticed I have a tube that runs the length of the radiator and back in front of and at the bottom of the radiator, exactly where I'd expect an outboard cooler to be installed.

Does the 2001 LX come with an external transmission cooler from the factory? I thought this was extra. Is this for something else or does the add on cooler replace or supliment the stock cooler?

The Ody has a tranny cooler built into the radiator. The add on cooler is used with the stock cooler.

Huh? It has one but you need to add one for towing to go with the one that is already there? I have the same tube in my '99. It looks much like the photo's I've seen of the add on cooler. Please elaborate.

The Ody has a built in tranny cooler that is part of the bottom of the radiator. The tube cooler you see in front of the A/C condensor is the power steering cooler.
To tow over 2000lbs Honda recommends adding an extra tranny cooler in line with the stock cooler. The Honda cooler mounts just above the stock power steering cooler.

If you are looking at the front of the Ody the powersteering cooler is on the passenger side. The Honda aux. cooler looks just like it, but is installed on the driver's side. I'll post a couple of pics later.
