Dust boots on the upper control arms of my 95 EX are cracking. I'd like to just replace the whole control arm assembly while I'm in there. These were the only directions I could find regarding this process:

4-Cylinder Odyssey Models

UPPER ARM

Raise and safely support the vehicle.
Remove the rear tire/wheel assembly.
Remove the upper arm-to-body through bolt.
Remove the upper arm ball joint bolt.
Using a suitable ball joint/tie end removal tool, remove the ball joint.
Remove the upper arm.

To install:
Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following steps:
Lubricate the body side bushing with silicone grease.
Tighten the ball joint nut to 29-35 ft lbs. (39-47 Nm), install using a new cotter pin
Tighten the upper arm through bolt to 76 ft. lbs. (103 Nm)
Tighten the lug nuts to 80 ft. lbs. (108 Nm)

Could someone tell me if these directions are way oversimplified and if there are some major things in between these steps that I need to know. Any things to look out for or pointers would be great. Thanks

Take your time and you will be fine. There are only 3 bolts holding the upper arm in. You may need to unbolt a few things under the hood to get to the upper arm bolts if you don't have some special socket extensions. Also, you may want to put something to support the rest of the front suspension when you remove the upper arm. I usually put a jackstand under the wheels studs. Good luck, we're all counting on you.

I did mine quickly without air tools and with no scraped knuckles;) Just do NOT get the cheapies off ebay. I did-they suck!

You must have seen me after I ate my spinach:stupid:
