I just looked at the college hills Honda web site and noticed that in Sept and October production there is not listing of Starlight Silver dates. I am on the list for SS and I hope this is a mistake. I don't want to wait until Nov or December for SS to be produced.

Anyone know if that might just be a mistake??

My silver 02 is being built next week.

I'm getting it for $500 off list (EXL-RES).

Are you sure it is being built next week. The dealers are saying Starlight silver is not up for production till end of Oct or maybe Nov. You better double check

To adam1991: I'm down in Orange county and have a deposit for a '02 SS EXL-Nav with a local dealer. Who did you get to give you $500 off here in socal?

My dealer in PA, burnehonda told me that I am first on the list to get '02 SS EX, infact he also asked if I wanted an '01 SS EX that was available next week. He was quite sure that I should be getting the '02 in mid sept. The SS are the most popular color and happen to get the majority of production chunk.

I will double-check; however, as of Friday when I first checked, it's being built between the 27th and 31st of August. There's only one silver, right? That's what I'm getting.

I didn't get picky about the color (anything but white). The first 02 EXL-RES that was scheduled for this dealership was silver. Fine with me. It was on the list of units they were scheduled to get anyway, and was the only RES unit on the list.

This isn't a SoCal dealer, anyway. Sorry.

(Man, is this puppy expensive. What makes it acceptable is that I plan to have this thing 20 years.)

BTW, is anyone else of the opinion that the EXL-RES (and EXL-NAV) are really Acuras? I mean, if Acura sold a version of this car, those are the models they'd get--with the lesser models getting the Honda badge. The only thing that keeps these with the Honda badge is that Acura doesn't sell a minivan version of this platform.

I mean, look at the facts. Acura *does* sell the MDX, which is the Ody platform with swing out doors and an all-wheel-drive system, hooked to the (now) same engine and transmission. Obviously to contain costs, Honda quit differentiating the engine/transmission combos--and gave Honda the good stuff from the Acura line.

Sort of like the TL stuff is really a goodied-out Accord, the EXL models are really goodied-out plain old Odysseys.

It's nice to think that I'm getting what would otherwise be an Acura...

This might sound strange but I am using Burne Honda as well and they said I am the first on their list for SS. They also said they don't have a build date for silvers yet. Which saleperson are you working with????

I booked a Honda ody in SS and was told that

the delivery would be in Nov.

I am dealing with Dave Campfield and he did mention that there was one guy ahead of me. The waiting list depends upon the booking time, mine was around first week of July. Is it that each salesperson is going as per their own list of customers? Who is your salesperson and what time did you make your booking. Where you also offered an '01 SS EX coming next week? Dave mentioned that the vans should start rolling in as early as second week of sept. Please share your feedback too. Thanks.

I am dealing with Mike Choori, I placed my order around june 12. Mike said there is no dates yet for SS production that he knows of

. Seems like it will be in Nov

. WIsh they had dvd for non leather Ody's. Did not offer 2001 because he knows I want 2002.

Just confirmed with my dealer, who confirmed with Honda. My SS is scheduled to be built between 9/4-9/8. There are other SS that they ordered that show a little earlier and a little later date, but not by more than a few weeks for their first stuff. My should be in around the end of Sept.
