The EX-RES head unit does have a small volume indicator. According to the manual the EX will play CD-R's but it doesn't mention the capability of playing MP3's. Haven't tried it yet but I would guess not.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">My Ody doesn't have the little LCD bar volume level display. I really like this in my CR-V. I could glance at that, and know how much I have the volume cranked up or not, which is especially handy when switching from distant faint AM talk-radio, over to loud rockin' stereo FM. Is my unit missing this option in error, or does everyone's Ody not have this. It is the only music playing device I own that I cannot, by looking at it, see how high I have the volume turned up.
One other quick question on this topic. Does the EX '02 in-dash CD player play MP3 discs? I play CD-Rs that I make all the time, but was wondering if the Ody will play the more compressed MP3 formatted homemade tracks.
