This website highlights the Honda Odyssey transmission problems.

Found a few things of interest:

This website has a link for other Honda Odyssey problem websites and the link for the website "Odyssey Transmission" leads me to a website where some have reported trans issues for 2008, 2009 and 2010. I had no clue that newer Odyssey's have this problem too but perhaps to a lesser degree.

There is also a video which highlights that Honda is trying to keep quiet an electrical fire issue with the newer Odysseys. Very interesting.

The ody that burned in that video was from australia. There ody is different from ours. If you look at the doors, it looks like they all open like normal doors. The rears don't slide.

If you search hard enough, you would find stories like that with all mfrs. Infact, a house in my neighborhood burned up due to a Ford that caught fire after the owners drove it into the garage. All mrfs have problems and sites like you mention, (and even this one to a certain extent) magnify the scale as most turn towards forums and sites for help.

Now, I am not saying the Honda tranny (2nd gen to be more precise) doesn't have issues but electrical issues and tranny problems with the 2010s?? Please.

dvpatel...I think you are correct and you made an excellent point.

I was quite shocked by the stats given at this website There is a graph detailing this...

"NHTSA Complaints 2001- 2004 - consumers cited transmission-related problems with 2001 through 2004 Odysseys MORE THAN FIVE TIMES as often as they did for the Toyota Sienna or the Chrysler Group's Caravan, Grand Caravan and Town and Country minivans during the same model years."

I always thought Chryslers had the worst trans for these years...guess I was wrong.
