wow, I am missing all the drama over here. I have heard of UFO's, but have not seen one lodge itself in the spark plug tube of Honda odyssey of all vehicles.

So lets for a second forget how it got there and concentrate on hot to get it out of there.
Did the shop put plugs back in after they did compression test?
Do you have mechanics mirror? Do you have a boroscope inspection camera? You got to find a way to better inspect whatever is in there.
Basically, you need to determine if the thing in there is wedged or screwed.
Poke it with a screwdriver while using a mirror, does it move? If so, get something like
Does not have to be magnetic, just use the spring legs to grab the object and get it out.

If you see a hex, then most likely its screwed in. In that case, you need to use deep socket, try various sizes until you get the one that grabs and spin it out.
Use either magnet or above tool to get it out once you unscrew it.

So many questions, so little time ......

Update again! Had a gassy smell the past couple days so I checked the torque on the plugs but only the coil in cylinder 2 came out with oil on it and it looks like there's oil down around the spark plug. Any ideas?
Clearly you must have squashed one of the aliens while he was in act of stealing VCM Honda tech,
that or your spark plug tube seal is leaking.

The smell is definitely inside the vehicle and there's no gas leaking out onto the ground. He said my fuel lines were dry? They've had it for almost 2 days so I figured they would check out anywhere that gas goes and have an idea of what to look for. I mentioned the spark plugs and he didn't seem to think it was that.
what year is your Odyssey? 3rd gen had fuel pump recall that caused the fuel smell in cabin.

A

2012. I bought it in 2021 from a dealership
you are going to have to put some legwork or nose work here.
First, here is a link to the 3rd gen known issue 14-032 Honda Technical Service Bulletin
You are going to have to narrow this issue down:
1. is it coming from under the hood
2. is it coming around filler neck
3. is it smell strictly inside the cabin

Do you smell it right away when you step inside the cabin or does the smell occur once HVAC is activated?
That could differentiate if its coming under the hood or from under the car.
The issue got nothing to do with your spark plugs.
Have you opened the hood and sniffed around when smell was present in the cabin?

It's only when the van is started. I sat it in cold after sitting all night and it doesn't smell. My kids can smell it too so I'm not going crazy! Mechanic couldn't find anything but they didn't check the fuel pump. Would I get a code if it was the pump?
If that's the case, then open the hood when car is cold. Gasoline is very aromatic, so even a tiniest spec of it will produce the smell. If I had to guess, one of your injectors is leaking, or something going on with your purge valve. Look/smell for under the hood.
As far as Fuel pump, you could get codes for Evap leaks, if that was the case, but what you indicated tells me that smell is under the hood.
