Hi! There, I own a 2014 Honda Odyssey EX, and I've noticed my back brakes are at 8mm while the front ones are at 3mm. I've looked through the Odyssey Club discussions, and it seems that as long as I'm not getting the squealing noise warning from the metal detector, it's okay to wait until the pads are down to 2mm for replacement. What are your thoughts on this? Would love to hear your opinions! P.S. the mileage is around 60k. Thank you!

Don't rely on the squealer! The metal tab had broken off on one of my rear brakes. When I heard the growl of metal on metal I knew I had to slap on new pads. (One pad wore prematurely fast because a rubber boot on a caliper pin was not seated properly, and the pin stuck.)
I usually go by the separation groove in the middle of the pads, which I usually check spring and fall. If the groove is shallow or nearly gone, time for new pads. No groove- you're overdue!
