Carlinkit is ok, i have a 3.0 too, and my nephew just got their carplay screen. I saw a lot of people on the Internet saying that both cplay2air and ottocast are resellers of carlinkit, so I bought them directly from carlinkit.

I just got my Carlinkit 3.0 a couple of days ago and only tested it out a couple of times, has anyone gotten a black screen before? I can't tell if it's because it tried to connect with wifi and bluetooth or not, does the 4.0 choose one or the other or utilize both? Minimal lag when swiping compared to a wired connection, have yet to try it on an extended drive, but it's not enough to bother me.

No, I didn't get the black screen you mentioned. Maybe you should ask the seller for help.
I have the same question about wifi and bluetooth and this is what they replied to me at the time:" Our adapter has WiFi and Bluetooth hardware. It connects with Bluetooth and sends the WiFi credentials to the phone, then disconnects from the Bluetooth network. It works solely on WiFi from that point on."
