Bonehead move of the year has left the driver's side rear corner of my 2006 LX with a significant yellow stripe from rubbing up against a freshly painted yellow pole.
Regrettably the van is Sage Brush/Gray.
How do you suggest removing the stripe?
Bug & tar remover didn't work.
I've read that some rubbing compound maybe needed.
Any ideas or experience in this area?

Bug and tar remover probably has the same ingredient, but you could try mineral spirits. Other than that, rubbing compund made for clear coat should help.

Try OOPS. It is a latex paint remover. If you could find out if the paint is latex or oil would help. If oil base and you let it dry probably rubbing compound or fine sandpaper is your only option then refinish. Mineral spirits would remove it before dry. Try any chemical in an inconspicuous spot first.

I've had good luck using clay bars to remove rubbed on paint. If the clay bar doesn't work try solvents like 90% rubbing alcohol or try using a plastic razor to scrape off the offending paint.
