Hello folks! Just picked up my new 2006 Ody ex-l. I love this thing! Too bad the wifey drives it everyday. Anyway, I was curious as to what the timing belt interval as the owners manual is very vague... It basically says if you live in either extreme hot climate or extreme cold climate to change the belt every 60k miles. What if you don't live in one of these extreme's? I known on my VW TDI (diesel
) that is it manditory that the belt be changed every 80k miles. (unless of course you have the upgraded tensioner etc) Does anyone know what the exact interval is for the Ody? Also, is this the type of engine that IF the timing belt did break would it cause damage to the head (bend valves etc)? Or would it just be a replacement of belt and off you go again? (I know my 1986 ford escort was like that. it would break a belt every 15k miles like clock work) Anyway, thanks for the help guys!
