I have the dreaded Flashing "D" on my dash. From all the research I've done, it's the pressure switch. I took it to O'Reilly's and they came up with the P1740 code. Just want to make sure it is the 4th pressure switch and not the 2nd/3rd. My local Honda dealership couldn't tell me which is which.

28600-P7W-003

28600-P7Z-003

I've found several on ebay and just want to make sure I get the correct one. Thank you for your help.

2002 Honda Odyssey

The correct part # for the 4th Gear Pressure Switch for a 2002 Odyssey is 28600-P7W-003 and sells online for $46.

See the first post on page 3 of this thread for a photo of the switch. Interestingly, there is a "4" stamped on the transmission to let you know you have the right switch.

Hello, Can you or someone else confirm if this is the same part number for a 2004 odyssey exl 3.5L V6 FWD

I just bought this a month ago and everything was perfect and now the D light is flashing. I am so upset and am starting to regret buying this van.

Any help would be appreciated. I have been surfing the forums and most people have diagnosed it themselves for under 200 they all seem to have a 2000-2002.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

Yup. Need the code. Autozone or similar will get the code for free.

I brought it to a transmission shop today and they confirmed it was the 4th gear pressure switch. They wanted 260.00 to order the part and put it in which I felt was absurd for a 20 min job and the part costing less than 100.00.

I plan on changing it myself. New Dad New Van do you know if the part number you listed above (28600-P7W-003) for the 02 ODY is the same for an 04 ODY?

Thank you in advance for your help!

You can look up the part yourself on any of the online Honda parts websites:

Shop Genuine Honda OEM Parts & Accessories Online - Bernardi Parts

Genuine Honda Accessories at Discount Prices - Authorized OEM Honda Accessories Dealer

There are others but those are two that come to mind.
Thanks for the links.
However I am a bit confused as neither site has the part listed as 4th gear pressure switch.
I see:

@ bernardi parts
#12 PartNo: 28600-P7W-003 SWITCH ASSY., OIL PRESSURE
#12PartNo: 28600-P7W-013 SWITCH, OIL PRESSURE
#13PartNo: 28600-P7Z-003 SWITCH ASSY., OIL PRESSURE (TEXAS INSTRUMENTS)

@
college hills honda parts

#12 28600-P7W-013 SWITCH, OIL PRESSURE
#12 28600-P7W-013 SWITCH ASSY., OIL PRESSURE
#13 28600-P7Z-003 SWITCH ASSY., OIL PRESSURE (TEXAS INSTRUMENTS)

I also noticed the part numbers are are different for each store. Anyone know which if any of these parts would work for code p1740 4th gear pressure switch?
I tried researching each of the part names to no avail. Anyone have experience with these parts?

Thanks in advance.

Based on the picture in the first post of this link that was posted above:

It's clear that the #12 part in the diagram is the 4th gear pressure switch. There are two #12's in the diagrams but I'm not sure why, nor do I know why one has them listed as the same and one has different part numbers. I'd recommend going in to a Honda dealer and asking. They should be able to get you the right one based on your VIN.

I went to the Honda dealership this afternoon with all part numbers handy.
I gave them my vin and told them i needed the 4th gear pressure switch as for code p1740
They had the part in stock (56.99) but was a part number I have never seen before. When I told them I was concerned about the part number and asked them to research the part numbers I had:
28600-P7W-003 SWITCH ASSY., OIL PRESSURE
28600-P7W-013 SWITCH, OIL PRESSURE
28600-P7Z-003

They told me each of those part numbers were cross referenced with a new part number 28600-RKE-004. They assured me this new part number is the correct part.
Picture attached.

I will work on it tomorrow morning and update.
Thanks again to everyone who helped.

The new pressure switch part # could indicate that Honda has made a significant change to its internal design. That switch seems to have a high failure rate.

Well I replaced the old with the new yesterday afternoon. Took about 20 mins. I do not feel a difference in drive but there was no issue to begin with. Just the blinking D light and as of now I have not seen it blinking. Lets hope it stays this way! Thank you again to all who took the time to reply and assist.
