I purchases the new Elite and all lights inside the car are the old orange lights like they were in the 2014. Are they supposed to be LED??

Also, did anyone notice that during night driving some of the important buttons are almost impossible to see. This includes the gear selection, auto start stop, econ mode etc. and the buttons to open the sliding doors.
I bought a white LED kit for my 2016 Touring a week after I bought it a few years ago. It cost about $20 for all of the bulbs, including license plate light, and took under 15-20 mins to replace all of them. I absolutely love the look as it gives a much more luxurious feel. I plan to do the same after trading in for the '18 elite once prices drop. Hopefully there will be similar kits.

I also upgraded my headlamps to LED, but of course they won't be needed with the new Elites :).

Did you purchase this through Honda? Is it approved by Honda for warranty purposes?

Any LED bulbs interior or exterior will likely be aftermarket and not name brand. Amazon or ebay are popular places to buy the sets. Any time you do anything to your vehicle it leaves warranty issues up for interpretation by your local dealer; however, if a dealer tried to blame LED bulbs I would roll my eyes at them and then go to another dealer.

1. They stay where you put them. Not only can you slide the seats toward the middle, but you can slide them forward too. This is great for allowing access to the 3rd row. I love it.

2. I'm not sure, because I haven't tried it.
Thanks for the info. I'll probably test out the second question at my dealer sometime this week.

Perhaps something worth mentioning. I test drove an exl yesterday the dealer told me the 8th seat doesn't not move forward and back with the two outside seats. Obviously it can't move side to side so I thought there might be some misunderstanding so I checked for myself and I could not find any way to move it forward and back. Wouldnt this present a problem for those wanting to adjust spacing for third row passengers...??? I'm almost positive the older gen did allow for the 8th seat to be moved with the others but I could be wrong. Is this concerning to anyone else?

Agreed. They are definitely aftermarket and voiding warranty wasn't a concern for me. I kept the old bulbs so I could swap them back if I got into any warranty issues.

Several people have already purchased their van and driven it for a week or more.
So, how about giving a mini review?

Looking for:
- likes / dislikes
- suprises, good or bad
- effectiveness of new climate control
- real world fuel economy
- other? Feel free to add to the list

No need to write an auto magazine review, just looking for a little feedback.
Cabin watch/talk, magic slide, intercom, etc have already been breathlessly talked about by the mommy bloggers and car magazines, so no need to rehash this unless there is something new that you observed.

Thanks!
Love it! Love it! Have an Elite.

It's super quiet, rides smooth.
Features are great. The Vac is nice.
Plenty of room.

Only complaint is the parking sensors. They are so quiet I can barely hear them. No one can figure out how to make them more audible. Otherwise the tech can have a lag, but that's expected.

All my lights for the controls are bright and easy to see at night. There's a setting to control the brightness you might have to just increase yours.

Got to see two Odyssey's up close yesterday. Guy at my church has a brand new EX-L. And the dealer less than 2 miles from my house had an EX-L w/NAV+RES sitting on the front of the lot so I looked closely at it (the dealer was closed).

I like the overall design. It is more modern looking without being too over the top. The interior definitely looks a little nicer than our 2013. I have spoken to several dealers and they have just about every trim sitting on the lot unsold. I may try to drive one soon. If we can get one for around $2500-3000 off MSRP I would buy sooner, otherwise we will wait because the 2013 drives great still and I don't want to overpay.

Did a trip from Houston to San Antonio 200+ miles here is my honest review, Odyssey Elite

1) Fuel economy 30+ mpg at 70 mph if I went 65 mph It went up to 32 mpg average
2) Excellent handling firm but not to harsh, quiet cabin no rattles, perfect seats for long hauls, low road noise
3) Needs more USB ports at the front, there is easy fix for that, but for price of this van they could have added 1 or 2 more.
4) Lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control excellent, it wears you down less on long trips using this technology, hope Honda adds more time on Lane assist, after certain seconds if you are not adding steering inputs it deactivates.
5) Excellent power for passing.
6) Garmin navigation good but still use Waze lol, here in Texas a lot of new roads and projects being built and Garmin is not up to date.

Cant't complaint, for the options out there right now you cant go wrong with the Odyssey, resales values are good and Honda quality history...

I am curious on the handling:
- We owned a 2006 EX-L and the handling on that van was best in class with good weighting and steering feel/input for a minivan
- We bought a 2013 Touring and the steering was much more vague. Much lighter at lower speeds and not direct feeling. The Sienna was actually better.

I am hoping the 2018 is an improvement in terms of steering feel/weighting/inputs. Would love to hear from those of you who owned the 4th gen and bought a 5th gen.

Can you please check specifically if the buttons for the gears and sliding doors actually light up at night the same pay the power window switches do? Same for the climate control?

In my elite they don't and I can't see them on dark roads. I'm trying to figure out if something is wrong with my car.
