Hello, i am having the same problem with my 2008 odyssey, the alarm goes off randomly at night. I disconnected the hood sensor and it seemed to work but now the alarm is going off again. Would you have any pictures or video to jumper the hood switch because i am really not familiar with cars... thanks for your help!
Hi, not sure if you got it bypassed yet. My odd is an 04 and on it one depressable plastic cable clip, (press with a screwdriver or your finger to release it) cable will come away from under the metal and plastic rad cradle and the wired plug will now have slack and depress side of connector and put a paper clip into the female end of connector ( 2 wire's in clip) each end of clip. The alarm should be bypassed now.

I think she has successfully done this already.

Hello Vanslandguy, have you seen the image ofthe jumper i did with the wire? Actually i checked if the red button on the dashboard was flashing after i locked the car and it is not... So i figured it was the right thing? Here is the image of the jumper i did (following instruction of a couple nice guys on this forum, never would have figure this out by myself) :

I made sure the wire was really going at the bottom of each holes before putting electric tape.

FWIW, my red anti theft light is flashing too. I am pretty sure my alarm is disabled and has been for years. I will have to research this.
I seem to recall a different alarm light on the instrument cluster that no longer illuminates since I jumpered the hood switch connector. I recall this was a yellowish orange light about the diameter of a pencil eraser

I am not sure how you can intentionally set off the alarm to verify if it is active or not.

Learned this the hard way: you can lock the vehicle with one of the front windows open, wait for the system to seemingly arm, then try reaching in through the window and pressing unlock on the door panel switch. If the system is armed, the vehicle will unlock and the alarm will sound.*

*: Highly recommend earmuffs for this portion :ROFLMAO:

Ok that's what i am talking about, it's an orange light flashing at the bottom of my Dashboard size like pencil eraser .so you are saying if this is flashing, my jumper is not done correctly right?
thank you!

Ok I will definitly try this tomorrow to make sure my jumper is done well because i am sick of the random alarm ...

Yes. I no longer see this light. I am surprised because I thought you had done the jumper correctly.

May be the wire is too thin. I will try with something a bit bigger. I believe regular electric wire will be too big... i will test it ! I also received the door switch so will do that as well.

* update Ok i checked out my jumper and it was indeed too loose so i pushed the wire more and tapped it but i guess it would be safer with a smaller paper clip (mine was too big). I no longer see the orange light. However, i changed the door switch and the door llight on the dashboard went off and came back. So door probleme is not solved :( even if i push the button of the switch, it doesn't turn off the light on the dashboard... any ideas? Thanks again!

The bottom of the door could be pushed out a bit, preventing the switch from properly closing. There was an earlier suggestion to put some electrical tape on the door where it pushes the switch. Might help to put 2 or 3 squares there until the dash light goes out.

So with all other doors closed, if you push the door switch you replaced the dashboard light does not turn off?
There's a light on the bottom of the door that turns on when you open the door. That light should go off when you push the switch. (Interior lights stay on for about a minute, or until the doors are locked.)
If the door light does not turn off, maybe the wire(s) came loose when you replaced that switch.

Before i changed the door switch, when i pressed hard on the door switch the light on the dashboard would not turn off. Same with the brand new switch... i have no idea what the problem could be...

Is your door open indicator light specific to the driver’s door, or could it be another door that is at fault?

Ok maybe this will sound weird but do you think it is possible to jumper the door switch the same way i did with the hood switch or it is too dangerous? Or is there something else (another lock/switch) that will make the door light on?

possible to jumper the door switch
There's only one wire to the door switch. Jumping it is not possible.

Try removing the switch again, just let it hang out of the mounting hole. The open door light should stay off. If it still comes on, there is a problem with the wiring.
Or is there something else (another lock/switch) that will make the door light on?
No, only the door switch.

Other than the door open indicator light being on are there any other issues? Such as the door randomly unlocking while you are driving?

Are you having anymore random alarms going off?

There are only a few things that happen with the door switch when you open the passenger or driver's door:
1) the curtesy light on the door goes on.
2) the interior lights come on (unless the interior light switch has been switched off)
3) the corresponding door light illuminates in the instrument cluster - only when the ignition switch is on.

I went out to the car to verify #2- if you switch the the interior light switch to Off, the door light stays on when the door is open.
