Just an FYI... The other day, i had the battery unplugged. After i connected the cables back up, i found that the one touch wasn't working any more, but the window did roll up and down, just without the one touch feature.. I did some google-ing and found that there is a way to reset this. With the window closed, turn the ignition to on. Then roll the window all the way down, then all the way up - being sure not to select the one touch feature. Repeat the roll down, and up 2 more times for a total of 3 times... After that's done, the feature should be reset and working... This worked for me..!

Interesting.

When my battery "gave up the ghost" recently, I had to jump the van to start it. When it was running, the one touch did not work either...

We drove down to Checkers and bought a new battery, I put it in while parked in their lot and we dorve off.

Later that day, after rolling the window up and down several times (in the course of normal use), we noticed that the feature had returned. I guess we "reset" the feature without knowing it.

Anyways... it nice to know this, thanks for the post and welcome to the site.

Anytime the battery is disconnected, the following needs to be performed:

Enter the anti-theft code for the radio and the navigation system.

Enter radio pre-sets for the radio stations.

Perform the PCM idle learn procedure.

For 2003+ model years, perform the power window control unit reset procedure: Turn the ignition switch to OFF then back to ON (II). Move the driver's window all the way down by holding the AUTO DOWN position; when the window reaches the bottom, hold the driver's window switch in the AUTO DOWN position for 2 seconds. Move the driver's window all the way up without stopping to the AUTO UP position; when the window reaches the top, hold the driver's window switch in the AUTO UP position for 2 seconds.

Set the clock.

What is this? Thanks

IDLE CONTROL SYSTEM

PCM Idle Learn Procedure

For the PCM to learn the engine idle characteristics, this procedure must be done.
Do the idle learn procedure whenever you do any of these actions:
• Disconnect the battery.
• Replace the PCM.
• Replace or clean the throttle body.
• Replace the idle air control (IAC) valve.
• Reset the PCM.
NOTE: Clearing DTCs with the HDS does not require
you to do the idle learn procedure.
• Remove the No. 13 CLOCK BACK UP (7.5A) fuse from
the passenger’s under-dash fuse/relay box.
• Remove the BATTERY (120A) fuse from the underhood
fuse/relay box.
• Remove the BACK UP, ACC (40A) fuse from the
under-hood fuse/relay box.
• Remove any of the wires from the under-hood fuse/
relay box.
• Remove any of the wires from the driver’s/passenger’s
under-dash fuse/relay box.
• Disconnect any of the connectors from the underhood
fuse/relay box.
• Disconnect any of the connectors from the driver’s/
passenger’s under-dash fuse/relay box.
• Disconnect the connector between the engine wire
harness and left engine compartment wire harness.
• Disconnect the G2 terminal from the transmission
housing.
• Disconnect the G1 terminal from the body.
• Disconnect the G101 terminal from the water passage.
• Disconnect the G102 terminal from the intake
manifold.

1. Make sure all electrical items (A/C, audio, rear window defogger, lights, etc.,) are off.
2. Start the engine, and hold it at 3,000 rpm with no load (in Park or neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, or until the engine coolant temperature reaches 194°F (90°C).
3. Let the engine idle for a minimum of 5 minutes with no load.
NOTE: If the radiator fan cycles during this time, do not include its running time in the 5 minutes.

That's a lot of stuff to do!!!!! Is this for all 99-04's? I've never done ANY of those things and have had no problems.

I've never done them either. I've had to replace the battery only once. Of course, between the kids and my wife, I've had to charge up / jump the battery because they left the interior lights on............  ....like THIS MORNING!!!

If you don't do the idle learn procedure, the van will evemtually do it for you as you drive. In the meantime, it may not run perfectly, as if most folks would notice anyway.

Note that it says only if you do ANY of the listed actions, you are to do the Idle Learn Procedure at the bottom of the post.

Yes, for all 1999-2004s.
