Can you find or put a bench seat in the 2nd row of a 2003 Honda Odyssey? It looks like there are floor bars there to put in a different kind of seat, but does one exist? Maybe from a newer year, or older year?

Plus, there are only two seatbelts in the 2nd row. Even if you could fabricate some custom bench seat, you still would have the safety issue of the seat belts.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember that the 99 or perhaps even 00, were available with the option either bench seat or regular seats that were sliding together.
I don't recall that. AFAIK, the 2nd generation only came with 2 buckets, and either one of the buckets could be shifted toward the other to make a 2 seat bench, but no option for a 3 seat wide bench.

It's starting to come back to me and the wife confirmed (and that means it's true:D ), that when we were ordering it back in the spring of 99, the option for the bench was there, However, as we were told by the dealer, nobody was really ordering a bench. Remember, at that time, you had to wait for the van (we did 3 month, and it was considered to be relatively fast).

That said, in Canada, the vans were available, so maybe some of them did have benches.

Can't believe it's been 11 years. I still have the van... Wish I kept the honda broshure from that time...

My Helms manual shows a bench in the seats section as being one of the seat types a mechanic may encounter.

Interesting to know. Was it a 2 person bench or a 3 seat bench?

It is on page 20-109, and appears to only be a 2-seat bench...but there is a bit of space between the seat belt buckles, about the same as both armrests put together...which makes it no different than having two individual seats slid next to each other.
