I have a 2009 Odyssey with 225xx miles that has a unique, to me, issue. A few thousand miles ago I started to notice that above 70 mph it would shake. Tires were worn down so new tires balanced and there was no change. Then I noticed that the shaking would show up the most when going up a slight grade under light load. When I would let off the gas and let it coast the shaking would stop. I have seen a wheel bearing cause this. I put it on stands, pulled the tires, removed the brake calipers and let them hang on a wire from the strut, reinstalled the tires to check for bearing movement. NO movement. Removing the calipers was to insure the calipers were not preventing the wheel from moving back and forth. Regardless the wheel bearings feel tight. I am unable to find a CV joint loose. Both axles have been replaced. The passenger side just three years ago. At that time the CV joint was quite loose and the only symptom was grinding noise while backing up with the wheels turn. NOW last night I was driving it and it is getting worse. This time however while going 65 mph it would shake when I let off the gas and let it coast but not while under a load. This is a new one for me and am planning on investigating it in the shop this weekend. Before I just start tearing into it I am hoping someone has seen this and can direct me in the correct direction. One more thing. The wheel bearings have been replaced, and I pressed in new ones instead of using the assembly.

It's the classic CV half shaft vibration symptom. Very common. Especially if you had aftermarket axles installed. I've read countless posts about 1 to 3 year old aftermarket CV axles starting to vibrate.

I would blame bearings/lateral runout/wheel balance if the vibration did not need acceleration to occur.

The new axles did nothing to help.

You replaced both axles with genuine Honda axles since your July 16 post? Or are you just restating what you said on your original post that the axles had been replaced 3 years ago?
