NGK 92924 from Rock Auto.
6 of them.
Gap spec is 1.0-1.1 mm, and mine did not need to be touched. Yours should not either.
From my notes, 4 years ago, I paid $92 (probably included CA 10% tax, shipping, minus RA 5% code), so your price looks just right.

I am not the least bit surprised Advance Auto costs so much more. That's pretty typical. Remember, at RA you have to account for shipping that will bring the cost up a little bit, but generally speaking if you need something RIGHT NOW then you pay the extra for that at places like Advance/Autozone/etc. If you can afford to wait a few days, then RA is the way to go to get it cheaper.

 

You can get the more advanced NGK Ruthenium-HX from rock auto for under $10 each. Same laser welding technology with platinum ground strap, but features a finer (than iridium) ruthenium tip. I use them in 2012 EXL and a 97 Type R. Great plug.

 

I'm not knowledgeable about details like this. Please share why they are better and the advantage of using them over the OEM plugs.

I found that Advance Auto was only a few $ more than RA after I accounted for shipping at RA, the 20% off code for ordering online at Advance, and the Speed perks rebate at Advance. Of course, this was a few years ago so the current Advance deals may or may not be as good.

not a lot of high mileage service data on the ruthenium's, since they are relatively new... but the theory is you change them and they last longer.


I have them in a few of the family vehicles, but its way too early to have any field data on them for high mileage in my specific use cases.

 

I just pulled a set from a friend's civic with 100k miles and there was zero change from original gap.

 

I've had Ruthenium in 3 different vehicles for a couple years now. Run great.

 

Hello all. I have a set of sparks plug from my 2008 EXL:
NGK 7751 ILZKR7B11 Laser Iridium Spark Plug
I now have a 2013 EXL. The recommended spark plug for 2013 is NGK 92924. Comparing the specs on the NGK site they seem identical, except these 2 lines:
NGK 92924 has Extended metal shell and Shape: Taper Cut

Could I use the NGK 7751 on the 2013 Ody?
