Hi All,
Been experiencing rough idling. 2016 Touring with 244k. It still has pace on the highway, but struggles to go up a steep hill. was going to take it to the shop but just noticed the huge crack in the rubber hose from air filter to engine. Does anyone have a part number and suggestions on where to buy?

intake boot or air intake hose.

aftermarket:

dealer:

your motor mounts are probably finished as well.

is it odd that no engine light came on?
Not necessarily.

can you share a little more information on why you think the engine mounts are gone too?
You are far from the first person to have this issue. That is why it pays to search. This is a common issue on these vehicles and the leading cause is worn out motor mounts from VCM not being disabled, leading to excessive engine movement that tears the hose. On the J series engines, when the motor mounts go, this hose is one of the first things to break.

Thanks to this forum, this 2016 ody had the VCM II installed from the beginning. so i guess this is just unlucky.
Yes you are one of the unlucky ones! Mounts still degrade even with VCM muzzled, just not as fast. I installed the muzzler at around 3 years/40k and the mounts still failed at around 10 years/155k. Ten years is not bad for mounts on any car IME.

As a temporary fix can you seal up the hole with decent duct tape (maybe cut some 1 inch wide strips so you can lay it so it sticks to the bottom of the valleys and run the strips circumferentially starting before the tear, then follow with full width strips)?
