Are you sure that the seat is not the color mocha in the youtube you watched? Looks like the color of my 2018 ODY Elite interior mocha.

 

I'm not sure I follow the logic of the color of the seat being a potential factor. Maybe you're asking if the seat was black in the video and it blended in with the cover? Here's a screen shot from the video that shows the cover going over the entire armrest.

Was not for certain what the color of your seats were, you never said or had a picture. My point although not needed now, was if you had mocha colored interior (this is what I have in the ODY Elite) the colors could have been fairly close between the seat shown on the youTube video for installation (would have been nice to have a link to the youTube) and the the covers for the seat. I am not one who like to look through pages of youTube to find what your are trying to show.

 

Jaysun, is it possible they changed the design because the longer ones were getting bunched up or torn beyond the pivot point? I think your original analysis is correct. They shortened them and the YouTube video was shot before the change. If they did shorten them, I can see where they may slip off easily.

Then again, if the original fabrics are robust enough, they should be easily cleanable and negate the need for covers🙃.

Thanks. That’s my best guess. In the grand scheme of things, this is like minus infinity important, but kinda nags me. We used OEM seat covers on our 2014 we just traded in. With the amount of abuse our 4 kids give the seats, I was happy with their performance. I also emailed the Honda dealer who sold them to me, but skeptical I’ll get much info back. Was hoping there was at least 1 other owner who could confirm or deny my observation. Also doesn’t help Honda didn’t update their installation document to reflect a change in design.
