I am a stickler for getting what I paid for and receiving me what was promised. I wont be batting an eye for this paint chip. It is not structural, blemish is small, and is not visible.
The best I would do is ask for a discount or additional services and go about my day

also, that Lasfit mats are the same ones branded as 3W and cost me $125 for the three rows. I presume you paid about the same?
I expected the seller to offer a discount but they said they’d contact the manufacturer. I normally wouldn’t wanna be dealing with shipping back and forth but since there’s no rush here I’m just gonna see what they say.

Also, I agree it’s not a huge or even visible damage but it’ll rust without a doubt.

The Lasfit mats were 175 including the trunk tray. So four rows if you will.

Not sure if they’re just branded and based on another mat set or not.

Great looking car. Just picked up mine this past weekend. What's the PN for that side marker/turn signal? Could not find it in VipMotoz website, but believe I found the right one on ebay.

However, looking at the wiring, do you had to tap on the headlight or just plug play?

Thanks

This is the exact one I purchased. Unfortunately it’s showing out of stock now but there should be a bit more info on the listing

When it warms up a bit I’m going to check if 10th gen civic marker lights fit, they look identical to me. If they do there are way more options available that we could use.

They are plug and play but if you want the market to flash amber with the turn signals you have to tap the wire in the bumper. I did not do this, I don’t need them to flash and I wasn’t keen on slicing into my brand brand new van at the moment.

I gave in and bought the Timbren SES bump stops. I know when I get the hitch installed I’ll be loading the rear so I’m gonna preemptively have these ready to swap in.

I got them on “sale” and including tax and shipping they were just about 240 dollars, which to me is ludicrous for rubber inserts but from the reviews you get what you pay for and they should be a solid upgrade.

Got my replacement hitch and intend to install it this weekend.

In a lucky twist, I was told to keep the original chipped paint one BUT had to send back the hardware kit (6 bolts and washers). Ironically the replacement is chipped too so I’m just going to paint both of them for corrosion resistance.

If someone is looking for a hitch and is local to Westchester NY, I’d be happy to split my good fortune with you!

100 bucks, less than half what I paid.

Replacement hardware would run you about bucks.

6x Bolt M12
1.25 x 35, CL8.8

6x Conical Washer 1/2”

I’ll be listing it on FB Marketplace but wanna put it out here first.

Another thing I’d be interested in is clear matte wrapping gloss interior surfaces. I hate the fingerprint prone gloss surfaces. My wife and I chose the Odyssey over a similarly spec’ed Kia Carnival for many reasons but one of them being the amount of black gloss interior panels that showed fingerprints very easily.

Picked her up today, very exciting and a smooth overall process.

As soon as I got home, I ordered a full set of Lasfit all weather mats, including a trunk tray. I was originally going go OEM but the aftermarket appears to have a lot better coverage, higher side walls, ect. and I have used Lasfit products in the past and been very happy with them.

After getting some forum inspiration, I ordered tinted indicator lights; the orange has to go… And a roll of 3m vinyl to black out the chrome on the window.

Also ordered Amazon LEDs to brighten all the interior lighting. I’ll probably debadge the odyssey and sport because I don’t think the chrome goes well with all the gloss black and I prefer the look of a clean trunk.

Finally, I did cave on an OEM accessory… the utility trash bin, which for some reason seems like such a good addition to me.

That’s all for now, this stuff should all be here/installed by mid January. At the end of the day, I don’t want to do to much and make this responsible family purchase into a money pit!

I don't understand how Honda can have such terrible Interior Lights on such a nice Van. Ou is a 2024 Odyssey Elite/5th Generation. You would think in the 5 th Gen they would have better lights. Anyway, do have the P/N for a 2024 or is it the same as previous years.

Next up is a hidden hitch! I’m all about practicality with this one.
I would highly recommend the OEM Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness! Note, I would suggest that you wire it with a 4 way and 7way plug, even if you don't need the 7way, the next owner will. Also make sure the 7way has the "Charge Wire" fro the Battery in it.

I would suggest you order only OEM Bots, the aftermarket bolts are probably made in China and are not suitable for any application that has SAFETY involved>

I considered it but it involved significant bumper cutting and I just don’t love how it looks. The draw tite was the perfect option for me

Got my hitch installed today. 1.5 hours total and that was being extra cautious to not break a single tab or nick any paint! I think it’s more like an hour job if you have everything laid out.

I love how it turned out. Factory fit and finish and with an extra set of hands (thanks Dad) I would say this is like a 4/10 if you’re at all experienced with car stuff.

Looking forward to getting a basket for luggage and a bike rack for my kids. Even though we torqued the bolts to spec, I highly doubt I’ll ever tow anything, but I will absolutely be strapping suitcases out there on trips.

I was going to do the Timbren SES as well but the temp started to go below 40 and the wife started asking how long I’d be, so that will have to wait for another weekend.

I slapped a plastic plug I got for a couple bucks on Amazon in there to keep dirt and water out and think it looks great.

Last thing, as I mentioned before, if anyone is in the Westchester, New York area, or willing to travel, I have an extra hitch minus the 6 bolts and washers I’ll give you a killer deal on!

Looks great! No drilling in the chassis anywhere?

Drawtite 76170. The photo of the bumper with the square drawn on is what had to be cut. I did a little more than was absolutely necessary, the manufacturer provided measurements but I rounded up an inch for clearance. The OEM hitch requires you to cut into the bumper WAY more, and I just didn’t like that look.

My cargo carrier search led me down some interesting paths. Two brands stood out, Pakmule and Mesa. Although they look really high quality and cool, the prices were eye watering - both well over 500 bucks.

I ended up settling on a cargo basket from none other than Harbor Freight. It was 70 dollars, and I got a free bucket! For what it is, I’m very pleased overall; not super heavy duty but then again I’m only gonna be strapping down a few suitcases here and there for trips to the airport.

The basket is rated for 500 pounds and I stood in it (~265) and it felt very sturdy with hardly any play. I doubt I’ll load it with anything over 150lbs so it’s should work out well for us.

I had planned to get the van washed but a winter storm is coming so might as well wait.

Next weekend I’ll get the Timbren bumpstops in, weather permitting. After standing in the basket and seeing how much sag there is with “cargo”, I am so glad I got the SES to mitigate that. I’ll take a before and after photo to compare!

have a great week all!

Do you have it ceramic coated? I forget if you had mentioned it and too lazy to look back. If you hadn't, I recommend you do. I did it myself and it is impressive how much of a difference it makes. I coated it after I took delivery and before any other trips.
