Aisin DW1 ATF. Did anyone try to use it?

Complete drain and fill is 8.2 quarts. Complete means no old ATF left in the transmission. Can be done by disconnecting ATF line, draining everything, adding couple quarts and draining again.
That's how I prefer to change ATF, no mixing old and new fluid, especially when switching from one brand to another.
That is still not complete and it still mixes the old and the new per my understanding.

Based on prior discussion(s) on the topic, it seems, some fluid in the torque converter never does come out.

After my current case of DW-1 runs out, I plan to go MaxLife on the old girl.

So, I found this AISIN ATF at rockauto. Did anyone use it? Forum search brings nothing but AISIN TB kits, sorry )
Search term: "AISIN ATF" (wrapped in quotes)

An interesting result

That was search result for 2011-2017 Odyssey, wich has a different transmission.
2005-2010 folks didn't post much regarding AISIN ATF. Or, maybe I don't know how to use a search, my apologies.

Regarding complete ATF drain, yes some of it stays in the converter. Up untill it gets pumped out. Thats why I disconnect ATF line, drain it all, then add a few qarts, and drain it again to clean up the converter. That way 99% of ATF will be new.
Is there any automatic transmission repair guys? Please correct me if I am wrong ) But I know I am right, because ATF constantly flows through converter.

Anyhow, the question was if anyone used AISIN ATF on 2008-2010 Odyssey.
DW-1 is DW-1. It goes across 3 generations.

Is there any option in search, to filter out Touring models in 2011-2017 forum? I probably missed it
No. There isn't and I am not sure what exactly is it that you're trying to get at. You said you could not find post(s). I gave you how to use the search to find Aisin ATF only posts and then you threw in the model year argument and now you want o throw in the trim argument as well.

Seems you want to try AISIN so try it. Per the prior threads and the discussion on BobIsTheOilGuy, Aisin DW-1 and Honda DW-1 are radically different products.

A LOT of people in this GEN use MaxLife. At $26 a GALLON, its still significantly cheaper than both Honda DW-1 and this AISIN DW-1 which are both sold per quart. So, I am totally lost as to your objective here.

Let me disagree on this one. Every brand that makes DW1 applicable ATF has slightly different specs.. Viscosity, flash point, etc.
Transmissions are also very different, if you compare 3 generations
You can disagree all you want. What I was saying is Honda DW-1 is Honda DW-1 and is used in and recommended to be used in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen so it goes across 3 generations.

I am keep extending replacement timeline of the minivan. First, it was until kids graduate from middle school, then when they go to college, then now, it is until they graduate from college and one of the kid DID graduate this year and the other will do it by next year so looks like I may have to reset my goal to maybe when they get married or something... They practically grew up in the van - since kindergarten for my younger son.)
Meh. You will need the minivan when you have grand babies. :p

About trannies, you probably know better than anyone here 😁
Nope. But. I do not go on forums after making up my mind and post things and then start discounting the responses under one excuse or the other.

:D

What's wrong with going on forum to ask questions? I love to talk to experienced and educated mechanics. That's the way to learn. John Clark is one of them. I am a bit educated myself, diesel engine engineer, working in trucking industry right now. Still asking questions, and getting advises from mechanics. Because they always know better, which brand of the particular part will last longer.

Anyhow, seems that not too many folks used AISIN ATF. I will use it, and will report the results later. In case if anyone is interested. ✌
Nothing is wrong. Which is why this one is still OPEN actually. Usually we shut these down and send people to the viper pit they call BITOG.

What was wrong is, you discounted the fact that 3 generations of Odys all have the Honda DW-1 recommendation and then you got into but that is the 4th gen or that is the Touring and what not. All was well till then.

And yes, as you can see, some have used it (AISIN DW-1) in 2nd gen, some in the 3rd gen and others in the 4th gen but apparently VERY few and none for your 2008 - 2010 ask.

Do come back and post your findings for other people like yourself who want specific experience with their exact tranny.

Sorry, I didn't quite understand this one..
Why would you send someone away, to another forum? What's the point? More users stay here, more profit odyclub will make, isn't it how this industry works?

Yes, I am uneducated in this subject. My apologies.
Yeah. I make a killing here. 7 figures and all. :D

I make a killing too...8 figures even:
$00,000,000

They might not be 8 significant figures but they are figures...
Now that I know you are making 8 figures, I am going to demand a raise at my next performance review for sure.

You really should pay attention. I bought 12. I measured fluid coming out. It came to just under 4 qts per drain. I did 3 drain and fills. Presently it’s full at the cold mark cold.
You just got here. You should pay attention. You are dragging your story in the wrong generational forum and then calling some of the most helpful regulars assholes and asking them to pay attention. What is wrong with you? If You had paid attention, you'd have stayed out of the 3rd gen forum as you have a 2016.

Am I right or am I right? :D

I see why this forum has little traffic. And I will leave you to it and go back to the more interesting ones. This was a waste of time.
No worries. Pay attention to the door on your way out. I hear it’s bit fast to close on ya. Don’t want it to hit you on your behind.

For those of you who are creating mischief elsewhere (note that this guy fits into the middle of the Ody owner demographics) ....
..we don't care how you do it:
-- Cooler hose
-- Drain / refill
-- Drain / refill even more

Just quit robbing banks and change your d@mned ATF!

OF
And in addition to not robbing banks, please STOP creating new ATF or Oil weight threads and go to BITOG if you want to play with or like vipers.

Thank you for the update.

My version of the conclusion.

MaxLife was working fine but was getting up to $26 a gallon so we tried this new thing for $40 a gallon but it didn't work so we went back to MaxLife. :D

I did try a number of fluids, before AISIN DW1 there was Redline D4 in my transmission. Yes, it got way too expensive.
I am still baffled as to if Maxlife and the Lubeguard were working fine on what you are claiming as a worn out transmission, why are you experimenting with different and mostly much expensive ATFs?
