I've read several positive reviews of this OBDll scanner that interfaces with your car and then your computer (Mac or PC) and then via the internet gives expanded reports on your car's condition.
Their website states:
"The combined power of our handheld testers and diagnostic database sets CarMD apart. Use the tester to read your vehicle’s computer for a quick checkup. Then use your PC to upload the information and tap into the CarMD online database for a specific report about what’s ailing your vehicle."

Has anyone tried the CarMD on their Ody?
I am thinking about it, the price is $100, plus shipping and tax in CA.
There is a 20% off discount code in Macworld Magazine MWCE10 that is valid through 3/31/10

Hope you find this helpful, while the "CAR MD "seems like a good product I believe for the money you spend on it would could be better spent on something more powerful and easy to use, this Jewel http://www.amazon.com/U581-OBDII-EO...EOBDII-Memo-Scanner/dp/B000MLF7CS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1263525615&sr=1-1-fkmr is able to not only tell you the code but tell you what it means , plus if you own a vehicle 2003 or newer this scanner has the higher capability that is required to gain info from a CAN system (CONNECTIVE AREA NETWORK ). As well as EOBDII You may also run the vehicle , even drive it and read the status of various sensors and store the data well I am being a little long winded so that is my take on CODE READERS ! :usa:

New here but I had to chime in on this one. From what I see it sounds like a great tool. Especially if it will data-log you vehicle and give you feedback as to how it is running and if there are any potential oddities going on. I would assume that this thing would gather data CEL or not.

IMHO, I feel you'd get the same for free at any AutoZone or Discount Auto who will read your codes for free. Then you just google to code to fine forums, such as this one, with solutions or information on what it means.
