I’m trying to find a decent set of aftermarket bumper clips. I bought two sets but they are very poor in quality, when you try to remove them, they break.

I don’t have a specific recommendation for you. I buy them in bulk on Amazon- assorted sizes. (A rare example of me buying auto parts on Amazon!)
They seem to work fine for me. I never reuse them. Once removed I discard them and install a new one.

I can say the same for my 15yo OEM clips! :ROFLMAO:
I agree with thscott- get a couple inexpensive bags of the various sizes needed and replace them if they break on you!

Yeah, most of the cheap ones you see online just work once then break.

This isn’t going to be too helpful but in the fall of last year, a few months before picking up my odyssey I bought a clip set at the Carlisle auto show in PA. Little did I know what a gold mine this would be. Some clips are identical to the odyssey clips
I couldn’t find a source online but maybe that same set is sold under other names. Was about$15 at the show. Will buy again if I see them next time

I have put these clips in the plastic radiator cover and had them off a few times. I justexercised one I. My garage about 10 times and didn’t break at temps under 30F

I have bought clips online that snapped as I was installing them during summer months. The plastic was so brittle I am not sure why they even bothered to manuf these

I got one of assorted sets thscott suggested in a different thread.... Looks like Honda uses 2 sizes out of that. Let me check which ones. I need to get more too. Unless the access is good, most snap after 1 use. That tool was helpful I did not have before, less snapping.

The amazon link with the tool looks like a good set. Mine has similar clips with the addition of the more universal but not reusable barbed fasteners. I am hoping to use the barbed fastener in place of a honda specific button that I destroyed taking off my fender's splash shield while doing the timing belt.

@jnissen I had those. These were mostly 1 time. Depending on which slot they went, some are easy and some are hard. That plastic part on the push pin breaks, but that was before I had the tool. Some still work though. Are WerFamily ones with thicker push pin?

In my experience, the OEM fasteners also break when I remove them. Which is why we find ourselves in the position of needing to buy more. As said above, these non-critical plastic fasteners are the kind of car parts suitable for purchase on ebay or Amazon. I don't mind replacing 10 clips at 15 cents apiece on those occasional projects that require their removal, like replacing my radiator 7 years ago, or my hood release cable this past summer. It's like the nitrile gloves I wear or the brake cleaner I spray, an inexpensive supply item.

The last two set of clips I bought, whenever I try to remove the clips with my clip removal tool, the head breaks off. Then you cannot get the clip out unless you do some monkeying around. SUPER annoying as it scratches the surrounding surfaces and slows me down. Sad thing is, I bought from the same sellers couple years back and they were quality clips.

Plastics brittle with age. Even the OEM ones would snap off. I got a different clip tool recently and it’s a bit more successful in removing them correctly. My earlier tool was gripping the heads out on the outer edges. The new one is closer to the shaft. Much more success but like I said earlier I don’t reuse clips anymore.
