Cam sensor code

So a few weeks ago I was driving home and my 2008 odyssey LX died. I heard like a clunking or grinding for a second. I was able to cruise into a parking lot and got it towed home. It cranks but it won't start. I rented a scan tool and it said cam sensor. I replaced the cam sensor and I was still getting the code. My mechanic friend came over to help me diagnose. His scan tool was saying no pulse from Cam sensor. We tested the continuity of the wires and they had continuity. We checked a few more things but no luck. I'm at my wits end trying to figure it out. It was low on oil and thought maybe oil pressure could have something to do with it. Like an idiot I was slacking on an oil change and it took 3 quarts. Still no start. I don't have an oil leak so wasn't sure why it was so low. I saw a video on YouTube about Honda Odyssey crank no start with cam sensor code can be caused by bad crankshaft sensor. Why wouldn't that code pop up? If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. I replaced the timing less than a year ago also.

Where were the timing belt components sourced from?

This smells like a potential classic counterfeit timing belt case to me...

I attached a PDF of a Honda service bulletin that may pertain to your situation. First thing like others mentioned is get a clear answer on where these parts were sourced from. The only answers we like are Honda dealer (OEM) or Rock Auto (AISIN brand). Private party, Ebay or Amazon likely means you got counterfeit parts.

When you replaced the cam sensor, did it look damaged like what was described in this bulletin? If not then it does not apply.
