Oh wow, so you know the business. Cool! VP is pretty small, really. My baby sis is the COO :)
if you're nice to people, perhaps the bad luck you've had in life will change

Holy smokes, you probably actually know my little sis. Also that's a very impressive resume.

I'm hoping by warning me about the important points you're referring to the VCM Mega thread they referred me to and the VCM muzzler or controller thing I should do, which I really am going to go read about now.

This forum is awesome. I really appreciate you guys. You gave me great advice last year about batteries and trickle chargers and it's made my life a heckuva lot easier since.
yes, it's a great forum, thanks for being so nice a person. you're a gem. i actually have Sunoco race fuel inside info on formulation in my files! they had some fear of VP Fuels. i'm signing off for a while due to a divorce settlement which requires me to move to vero beach, FL. There's a little racing co. near there called P2R Power Rev Racing that's the leading producer of parts for these type honda engines, I hope to assist and work with them: https://www.powerrevracing.com/

FYI Trolls are the ones the admins/mods get multiple reports on every day or every other day.

Hi, there are no oil warning lights on in my 2011 Ody with 94K miles, but I have not had the oil changed since I bought it about 500 miles ago, and do not know when it was last done. I checked the oil and it is just above the minimum and kinda brown, so I'm debating whether to add a quart or just get it changed. If I add a quart, is there any danger of using a blend if full synthetic was used in the last fill or vice versa? I don't know if they mix!

Also if I do take it in for a change, is there any advantage to paying extra for full synthetic?

Thanks.
Just change it! Jeez!!!

What is the oil life %? If it is above 30% left I would just wait for 15%, that way the other services due will show up as letters & numbers. If the oil is above the lower mark, (I think you said half way to the full mark?) then it will be fine. Real synthetic oil (the only kind recommended for an Odyssey) will go the full life of the algorithm. Before the Maintenance Minder, the oil change interval was 7500 miles.

If you need an owner's manual, there are pdf versions on the Honda owner's site.

As long as the oil you add meets the Honda specs, it's fine.
