It’s my money and I happily pulled the trigger on a 2024 Elite on Friday - just picked it up this morning and sold the tires (Bridgestone Turanzas) to put on Michelins (paid for with my end-of-model-year discounts.) I almost put a deposit down on a “Smokey blue pearl,” 2025 Elite because I am wishing the Odyssey will come out with a pretty blue, but nope. I would’ve been so disappointed if I had waited on another shade of gray. So, I’m stuck with the digital dashboard and a DVD player, but I’m really happy with the extra cash.
Which Michelin's and why?

I went with the Michelin Defender 2 tires because I had the predecessor Michelins on my 2020 Odyssey and they held up so well. 50Kmiles and still had nearly half their tread and rode reasonably well - the guy evaluating my trade-in seemed pleased that I had good tires and I did get a great trade-in for my 2020. The Turanzas aren’t terrible tires, but they are short lived. I‘m old and alone now and I don’t like the thought of waiting on the side of the road for AAA to show up for a flat tire. My experience with Michelin tires is very positive - no flats and I will be trading this Odyssey before the tires are worn out.

Love the rear bumper. Not a fan of the front. They kind of made it worse. Wish they would have at least used the new Pilot V6. Glad about the larger screens. Still trying to figure out why they called the Sport the Sport-L now. Glad they got rid of the LX and EX trims. No one really wanted those.

If yall want hybrid, go get a Sienna. Lol! Stop asking Honda to do it. They did a hybrid V6 on the MDX one time and it didn't work out well. It doesn't need the 4cyl hybrid because imagine trying to do a full haul with the van's weight, 7 passengers, and full luggage with a 4cyl hybrid. Not happening.

Until the Odyssey gets a FULL redesign, not just a refresh, you won't be seeing any 360 cameras.

I like the new colors.

But...every other minivan maker has a hybrid. Toyota obviously has the all-hybrid Sienna, Chrysler has their version of a PHEV, and Kia is releasing a hybrid Carnival this year. It's ridiculous that Honda doesn't have a hybrid system for their large vehicles. The Pilot, Passport, Ridgeline and Odyssey all deserve and need a competitive hybrid system.

Like - people drive minivans to and from work and schools. It's not just roadtrips. 19 mpg city is frankly embarrassing for a MY2025 vehicle.

The J35 was introduced to the Odyssey in 1999. They're still using it. Yes it's a great engine - but the Odyssey already was seeming old and this update doesn't do anything to help.

I really don't want a Sienna but my driving is like 80% city.

There were rumours floating around that a large vehicle hybrid system was being developed and millions were spent internally on it then it was scrapped when the focus shifted to EVs. Hopefully they still roll out hybrids because they should realistically have a fleet of PHEVs for their large vehicles that will be used as road trippers. I owned a Honda Clarity and it was arguably the best vehicle I've ever had.

Update for everyone’s information:

I went over to a Honda Dealership today. Reports are true, the new models are now being tracked in the system and will be getting built starting at the end of this month.

I was able to identify a new color that they are coming out with, “Smoky Blue Pearl” no idea what it actually looks like, if y’all have any idea let me know.

They will let me reserve one for a $500 deposit. Interestingly out of the 8 or so vans they are tracking none had the tan interior. I didn’t see a single EX only EXLs.

The red 2024 only came with tan, looks like this year they will have gray interiors.
We recently purchased a new '24 Odyssey Touring. White w/tan leather. We were told by mgmt. that NO '25 Honda's will have tan/beige leather as an option.

Chrysler Pacifica
Pros - Best overall tech/features packages, reasonably nice looking interior, 7 seater version (w/ armrests) available at all trim levels.
Cons - 8 seater has no armrests, no ACC/LKA (as far as I can tell)

.
ACC and LKA are standard equipment on the Pacifica. It’s all speed ACC as well, so great for freeway stop and go traffic. The LKA is pretty basic; it doesn’t do lane centering just applies torque to the steering wheel when it thinks you’re too close to the edge. These features used to be part of a “Technology Package” option in previous model years but became standard somewhere along the line.

I just put a deposit down on a Black '25 Elite. Looking like an October delivery.

I'm pretty underwhelmed with the updates, as seems to be the general consensus -- Especially after the press release a few months ago made it seem like it would be a bigger refresh (newer grill and dash, per the design standards of other new Honda's, and new Pilot engine). I will be trading in my Black '18 Ody Elite for essentially the same car (minus Honda Vac), but we love it and we kept it for a few years longer than we planned to (COVID spike in prices, lack of availability, not big enough updates in '21, etc, etc).

Regardless, I'm pretty excited and looking forward to it. We thought about trading for the Sienna, and although we like the idea of hybrid, the lack of power was a dealbreaker. The Pacifica is unimpressive, and the Carnival is nice but I'm unsure about the reliability and resale value. We have rented all 3 for at least a week on various vacations, and none of them offer the comfort of the Odyssey. So we will stick with it for at least 3 more years.

Hopefully the next one will be as impressive as the '18 was when it was released (I traded a '15 Ody Touring for it).

It seems like Touring and Elite are almost identical in features. These are the only differences.

ventilated front seats
Heated steering wheel
Hands Free tailgate
Power folding side mirrors
Upgraded Audio
Cabin talk through headphones and speakers
