Hi everyone,

After replacing my drivers from bearing because she was making noise making a right hand turn and still did after the replacement. So I decided to just live with it.

Now she is make a random noise going straight down the road . I feel a ever so slight clunk when I take off and it sound like a rock or something stuck in the rotor .

So my new bearing is bad or I did check axial play on both side . Passenger side no play in and out . Drivers about a 1/4" . Look at the hub nut it is not moving , so the play is coming from inside the the knuckle (this is the knuckle that goes though the wheel) .

Anyone else run across this or am I just blessed with odd ball problems .

The wheel bearing is new ( doesn't mean its good)

Plus I have axial play on the drivers side , none on the passenger side. The shaft moves in and out but the end in the wheel hub is tight.

So I suspect the CV shaft.

Well, Before I headed out to work today . I pushed the back brake shield bracket back , Just incase that may have been rubbing.
And the noise went away.

Still swing by my buddy's garage to get his feed back on the noise when making a right hand turn.

Just maybe time for a newer vehicle. Tried of fighting with this one. then again it does have 310000 miles on her , barely broke in :)

I found my answer about end play in the "outer" hub. Should have read the repair manuals fist , DUH !

"The outer CV joints use a ball-and-cage design, capable of angular but not axial movement."
