Yes, this is a no vote for the Silverstars...no matter which version. They are brighter but they do NOT last... for the price of the DDM kit... I'm ready to make the switch...

Here are Qs that I have for fellow OdyClub members with DDM HID Kit in place:

Q1:How does Hi_Lo on H4 work ?
I'm thinking it is 1 bulb with a way to redirect light to mimic High Beams...right ?
For those who have this Bi-Xenon setup... does it work ? does it last ?

Q2: Is there a relay needed and is one included ?
In particular, with Bi-Xenon setup...

Q3: Which color based on best lighting (truest to Sun)
5000k or 6000k ?

Q4: Over all, reliability and feedback on this setup that I'm considering ?
I'm focusing on Bi-Xenon, H4, 5000k

THANKS!

I have the answer to question 1. The telescopic bulb moves back for high beam leaving a hole on the bottom og the bulb cover to mimic the high beam. It is not as good compared to the halogen high beam. Yes, it does direct it higher but the light doesent reach farther. Its either that or because my bulb is 5000K so its harder for me to tell how far the light reaches because its natural white light. It would be easier if the bulb had some color. 5000Ks are good for the regular low beam but for high beams I wish the ODY had the same dual beam set up the accord has in which you can stick nokya yellow halogens in.

Q2. I did contact DDM and they told me that a relay was included only with bi-xenon kits (which you are planning to buy) but not with the single beam kits

Q3. I like 5000ks better. 6000Ks look white with a slight hint of dark blue (not 8000K ish blue) so its harder to see the potholes on the road because 6000Ks look gray when reflected off of the asphalt.

Q4 I cant answer based on personal experience as I have yet to tty DDM, but overall my 5000ks from ebay have worked well. My only problem is that the ones I recieved from an ebay seller I ordered from are broken. Sometimes when you switch to high beams the left side shuts off. Luckily I have the three year warranty but I have yet to send them in because they want me to send both bulbs in and I dont have spare HID bulbs to use while theyre gone, so I just said since the problem is not that bad Ill just stick with them till they get worse, and theyve been getting worse. I would suggest you but one from a reputable ebay seller that offers at least a 2 year waranty. While DDM is a reputable company, they have been known to send out the wrong bulb types and charge people a stocking fee for getting it replaced

My other suggestion to you is get the ones with Halogen High beams and do the mod that enables both the high and low beams to stay on at the same time when you click the highs on. That way, youd have a 4 bulbs on at the same time

I replied to your PM.

Basically, I have had the DDM Apexcone 55W 5000K H4 (Bi-Xenon) for a year without issues.

A tubular steel shield shifts out of the way for the high beams.

There is a relay with the kit.

4300K is said to be the closest to ideal. I went with the 5000K and the 55W kit and it is very white with little blue.

It is plug and play with ground(s) and battery hookup. The relay just needs to be mounted too.

A projector setup would be ideal but the shield on this kit cuts the glare down quite a bit.

Lifetime warranty too.

New Dad New Van....

Last Qs:

... the shield you mentioned... cuts down glare even with lo beam ?

Relay works for moving the hi-lo beam shield and allow for power right from the battery ?
Relay basically saves me from any concern with power relay kit that they sell separately ?

How did you decide bet. 35w vs this 55w ? Could 55w be way to much in terms of glare and the blue (police) coming after me ?

6000k really is my goal... did you have any thoughts on that ?

Believe it or not, I'm looking to convert the backup light on my Lexus with this stuff... :)
Asking Qs here because the guys here are a lot more helpful

The shield is for the high-low beam feature but it does cut down on some of the glare.

55W seemed to be the latest version and I wanted a white light and no blue which perhaps a 35W 5000K may give. No heat or other issues with my 2001 headlights so far.

The relay is for the high-low and is fuse protected.

Vikas, to get the boot around the HID bulb, I installed the bulb in the headlight first and then made a cut in the boot so that it is in the form of a C and slid it on after. The HID bulb is too big to go through the boot.

You are removing the air intake shield and the 2 clips first, right?

I posted the pictures in the other thread. Can you take a look at them?

Getting back to that shield, what exactly is the function of that contraption? Won't I get extra 15 horse powers by removing that "air-blocker"? :) As it is, the air path to the engine is way convoluted and even if somehow water were to get in to the air tube/horn behind the headlight, it still would not reach up stream to the air cleaner element. Besides there is no way for any splash water to enter there.

What was Honda thinking???

does 55watts cause too much glare? I got a 5000K 35W Bi-xenon kit and Im not getting the "day and night diff" switching from halogens like everyone is claiming. Im jua worried about cop trouble though here in VA cops dont seem to care.

Which 35 watt BiXenon did you get ?

Theyre from HID System INC, also an ebay seller. I think this is due to the fact that my lights are aimed too low. I used to have the HID low Halogen Highs without the shield, so I aimed the lights super low. Now with the Bixenons, should I just set it to how it was when it had halogens?
