Yes, it is pretty flimsy, but it beats putting holes in the front of your bumper. The part number is 71180-SHJ-A01 and can be had online from Majestic Honda for $9.35 plus shipping. List is $13.35 and for that I would just get it from the closest Honda dealer.

I plugged that number into Majestic Honda. It said it was not the right fit for my 05 EX. Instead, it said 71180-SHJ-A00 is the right fit.

About $28 before shipping.

I was thinking about hitting the yards for that bracket. Judging from the above discrepancy, a later 3rd gen bracket will NOT work on my 05?

 

The bracket mounts with 3 screws. 2 are hidden and screw up from below. ONE, however, goes through the middle of the bumper. The two screws from the bottom are not that sturdy and make the plate lean forward. There are several threads on this from back in the day when these old beasts were actually new.
