Has anyone confirmed that lubing control arm or swaybar bushings improves this specific issue? Anyone have a schematic of the strut assembly to identify the specific offending rubber part that needs lubing?

I assume a) the strut comes out b) you'll need a spring compressor to disassemble/assemble/lube the offending part and C) you'll need a front-end alignment afterward.

Yes a TSB was produced for this issue and yes the grease seems to work. I had mine done many years ago and it came back after about 18 months. I kept driving it and the squeek went away before I could re-grease the thing! Been working well lately and have 93K miles now. No noise at all and just keeps working

I've been in 4 times for this issue. Once they said a strut was leaking so I had to pay to get that replaced, once under warranty they replace the other strut for a reason I didn't really understand and the other 2 times they just applied grease and sent me on my way.

I think at this point I'm just going to ignore the noise.

I'm sure I could pay the dealer, but I was specifically trying to get details about how to lube the parts myself. Anyone do this themselves? How long does it take?

pics are in the TSB: http://www.urvi.net/forumfiles/SB/A11-038.PDF

You just jack up the front of the van, lift up the dust boots on the shocks, and lube the top of the dampers. Very simple.

They dealer lubed mine around 5k. I'm now at 35k and I had to lube them two more times myself (I didn't feel like wasting time going back to the dealer), and just this past week I started hearing the noise again, so I'll get the lube out again for them.

My 2015 Odyssey makes this noise -- noticed it first backing out of my driveway into the street, which created a turned wheel/speed bump kind of situation. I have 345 miles (a week old). Taking it in for service tomorrow (they are fixing the multiple dents in the roof which happened when the dealer installed the roof racks). Will have them look at the squeak in front.

Also they can look at the clunking noise I get when I drive low speeds after slowing down from high speeds.

They are totally going to think I have obsessive compulsive disorder! But I don't, but I don't, but I don't.

Just started noticing this on my 2011 EX-L which I bought brand new in the summer of 2011. It appeared to start during the cold weather and now happens at low speed turning and going over bumps. It looks pretty easy as a DYI, but has anyone had success getting the dealer to handle this out of warranty?

I have this same problem. It is now re-occurring. The dealership followed the TSB 11-038 about SHIN ETSU GREASE on July 1, 2014. "GREASED UPPER STRUT GROMMETS WITH SHIN-ETSU GREASE PER BULLETIN 11-038 GREASE DAMPERS". No more noises. I was charged $60 for total labor and parts.
It is now coming up on 1 year and the problem is back. Should I expect this type of issue? This car is babied, in a garage, in Georgia. Thank you

Yes, you will likely continue to experience this. Ours comes back each time as well -- 4 to 8 months is about how long the greasing lasts. So we're letting it go now until right before we're ready to sell the car. Then we'll do it again one last time.

Same here. I am sure the later models improved the design but mine creeks slightly in parking garages. I get under there every now and then and apply SuperLube to the area at the boot and it lasts about a year. It really is not that noticeable on mine so I can live with it.

So, our 2015 EX-L is also making the creaking noise when going over the driveway bump; seems to me it comes from both left and right struts. Took it to the dealer and they said they can only hear the right side; mentioned the TSB - they didn't know about it . They ordered both struts and said they would replace the right strut and test to see if the noise is still there. If yes, then they will replace the left strut as well. Car is at the dealer now; waiting to hear from them about the noise on the left side.

The wife brought this up to the dealer and I told her I was only willing to pay for the service if it was less than $70, otherwise I would do it myself. They did it for free during an oil change. I am sure I will pay for it somewhere down the road, but as of now, quite pleased.

Our '15 EX-L started the creaking before the first oil change. When I took it in for that change I mentioned the creak and when I picked it up it was gone. Been quiet since. If it starts again I'll just spray some stuff myself.

Our '14 suddenly got heavy creaking up front. I'm not sure what the dealership did but it was no simple lube operation as they took the whole suspension apart, as for the knocking bump stop TSB. I think they might have replaced the whole thing. Noise is gone for now. Hopefully I won't continue this trend of bringing the car in for suspension work more often than oil changes :/
