Front vents always blowing hot air -- even with fan off

My 2006 Odyssey has an intermittent problem.

Occasionally, all the front vents will blow hot air—even when I turn off all the fans (A/C, heater, fan). With A/C on, hot air comes out stronger, but even with all fans off, it will still come out more gently.

After half a day to a few days, it will then go back to working normally again. I've tried to toggle from heater, to fan only, to A/C, and nothing seems to force it back to normal. It just resolves on its own before reocurring.

This started a few weeks ago.

Any suggestions?

It sounds like the one of the hvac motors stopped working. I believe honda calls it the air mix control motor(actuator). It controls a flap behind the center console for using the heat vs ac air. All the Hondas uses a similar design so do a few searches and see if you can confirm the bad/mis behaving actuator.
