You can turn off the 'Driver Distraction' function, allowing one to enter GPS addresses while the car is moving, etc:

Enter the diagnostic menu by holding down 'power', 'brightness' and the 'home' button together for a few seconds.
A screen will pop up with two options. Press the lower option labeled 'Detail Information & Settings'.
A blue screen will pop up. Then hold the 'brightness' button for a few seconds until the screen changes.
You will see the 'Driver Distraction' option on the left.
Select that, then turn 'off' the function.

If you turn off the car, the function will switch back to 'on' the next time you start your car. Thus, you will need to turn off the 'driver distraction' function every time when you start up.

There are also other interesting info and options to explore in those menus.
Be careful though making changes though!

I was literally doing this on my drive home last night and was going to post this morning! You beat me to it.

If you really want to be menace on the roadway you can follow my previous guide on how to bring up the Chrome web browser while and you can stream movies online or surf the web.
With tethering or the AT&T plan.

The easy way: Hook up a USB keyboard and press <Win> + b to start the browser.

I have to give credit to other posts I've seen somewhere in the Honda Pilot discussions. Apparently, all the hidden diagnostic menus are accessed in a similar, if not identical, fashion among the Honda cars/trucks.

I will have to try the Chrome browser trick (mentioned by dkis), pretty cool. For instructions, google search 'Odyssey' and 'chrome browser' to find the link.

Fair warning, be careful in these menus. I'm trying to find a way to enable cabin talk on my Ex-l (I speculate that the hardware is installed but the software needs to be enabled).

I thought that if I could make the system think I had a different model, that it might enable the apps, since they are installed on my EX-L, but not activated (look in app manager, Cabin Watch and Cabin Talk are installed).

Anyway, I tried to edit the factory flashing by manually telling the system I had extra features that I didn't, such as the rear entertainment system. That ended up disabling my AM/FM/XM tuners and all audio (including Bluetooth). When i reverted back, I started getting a bunch of android errors. After turning off/on the car, the errors went away but still no tuner. Fortunately I have Bluetooth and Android Auto back, but still no tuners.

I'll keep playing around trying to fix my AM/FM/XM tuner problem. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

For anyone who might run into similar issues, a factory data reset fixed my issues. It appears that the factory reset is fairly intelligent and does more than just clear data/settings. I believe it interrogates the actual hardware installed and then installs the proper software packages.

After knowing that a factory reset restored proper operation of my unit, I continued trying to flash different packages to see if I could get Cabin Talk to appear. Unfortunately i couldn't, but I did manage to get the Cabin Watch icon to appear. It obviously didn't do anything since I don't have an interior camera, but it's interesting that the software exists in some fashion on the unit. I wonder if the hardware is different on the units with navigation, or if it's simply a software difference.

Anyone find Google Maps within these hidden menus? If it's running Android maybe it has it. I'd rather use Google Maps than the Garmin software. Yeah I know I can use Android Auto but then I gotta hook the phone up and worry about the battery draining over a long trip.

I can't thank you enough for this. Having to pull over to reset my wifi when it chokes was one of my pet peeves with the car. Being able to have my passenger fully utilize the in-car systems while driving is icing on the cake. I'd buy you a bear if you lived near me.

Do you know if you can disable the driver distraction on the 2019 EX-L? I've tried this trick but nothing happens when I press the buttons on my car.
