Hi guys. I have an '06 Ody with 190k but I think this is across the model years. A mechanic successfully replaced it with a Dorman M14-1.5 single oversize bolt which cut new threads on the hole and sealed the leak. It is nominally 14 mm outside diameter at the threads, and has a 18 mm head.
I just completed my first oil change since the installation, and I was pretty nervous. I'm really afraid to torque it down and buy myself a new pan. So I hand tightened it, but it leaked a few drops. So I torqued it to 25 ft lbs and I'm watching it.
I'm wondering if a Fumoto 14-1.5 will fit in the new threads? I selected the 'short nipple' Fumoto since I'm worried about something hitting it.
Another one is this Eco-plug valve which I guess has a magnetic cap?
Or this style of o-ring plug which has an interior, removable drain plug that uses a hex key?
What do you guys like? What do you think will fit in the new threads? Thanks!!
