So I have a key fob (for my '09 Ody) that I found collecting dust in the back of a drawer. When I tried the buttons nothing happened.
I then put in a new battery and the red LED blinks and stays on for a couple seconds while the car's exterior lights blink ... but then the car lights and red led turn off, and futher tapping of any of the fob buttons does nothing - no LED light up, no blinking of the exterior lights.

Taking out the battery, and then reinserting it leads to the same behavior as above.

It is a new battery, and every time I insert in there is some comms with the car (as evidenced by the exterior light blinking)... so I'm baffled unless I guess it's something with the board.

Thoughts? Do I just need to buy a new FOB, program it, and call it a day?

Thanks

You can buy new fobs for your 09 on amazon, ali express, ebay etc for around $15.00.
Try at you own risk if you want.
It almost appears that one of the keys in the fob you are trying to get working is sticking, etc.
Do some online searching for that FOB, you might be surprised.
