I swear I have searched and read through every thread I could find on the subject of cleaning the screens and testing the solenoids and I have done that to the extent that I could from the pictures and descriptions offered, but I cannot for the life of me find a post with a picture or description of the location of the C Solenoid. If anybody here has a picture (or a thousand words) I would greatly appreciate it.

My van started acting crazy, searching for gears and slipping a lot, but after cleaning the screens it drives normally as long as I don't put it in D4. D3 works fine, I'm hoping changing the C solenoid will help, but I need to find and test it first.

Also, thanks to everybody here that has contributed on here regarding the transmission issues on these vans, without you guys we would all be a lot lighter in the wallet!

I think what I'm seeing is that in this picture I still need to pull, test and clean parts 12 and 13, correct? I have already removed, tested and cleaned the screens associated with parts 8 and 10. None of them were labeled C, rather A, B and just solenoids.

Thanks again, I know helping folks can sometimes seem unrewarding.

thanks all. We've been driving it in 3rd and just not using overdrive but now 3rd is slipping too so I think it's time to go ahead with the replacement. I'm pretty good with a wrench and have built motors and done pretty much everything you can do to an American real wheel drive car, but never had to pull a transmission from a fwd vehicle. Is there a write up or could somebody with an alldata account PM me directions? I would really appreciate it since I'm going to have to do the work myself. To pay it back I can take all kinds of pics and do a replacement write up if one doesn't exist, if I can get some help from alldata...
