Oil pump seal leak

My 2011 with about 140,000 miles has developed an oil pump seal leak. The first quote I've gotten to fix it is about $1,800. The mechanic explained that he has to remove the timing belt assembly, which I assume means removing a bunch of other things.

Does this quote seem reasonable? I've done basic maintenance (fluid changes, brake pad replacements, and the like) but I don't think I have the skills or tools to tackle something like this myself.

The mechanic says the leak is small right now and it's not an urgent fix. Is this something I can live with? We plan to keep the van for as long as possible.

Thanks in advance!

AT-205 Reseal should work since it’s a small leak which probably means the rubber for the seal is hardening. The AT-205 will rejuvenate (soften) the seal and any other rubber seals that may be hardening as well. One bit of advice though is not to use a whole bottle. A bottle treats 6 qts and some people have reported issues when they just dump in a whole bottle.
Not on an Ody but I used on my Chevy truck that had a wheeping PS pump front seal. It was slinging a fine mist onto the PS hoses via the ps pulley. Took me a couple of days before I figured out what was going on because I flushed the ps and thought I spilled a drop or two.
The system holds 2 qts so I added a little less than 10ml and it sealed my leak after about 30 minutes of driving.
I also added 30ml to my oil (5qt system) because my RMS was showing dampness on the oil pan. Sealed that leak as well.
1.5oz (45ml) treats 1qt.
I would start with 1oz (30ml) and if that doesn’t stop the leak after a couple days add another ounce and try it again. If your leak is that small it should work with the 1-3 oz.
You don’t have to change your oil to use it or after the leak stops.
