Hi all!
So van throwing rich codes for a few months now but it initially only started AFTER we changed out our fuel injectors. First code that came up was a misfire so that led us to changing out the injectors. Seemed to have fixed the problem. Van started running well, but shortly after had an EGR code that we cleared and didn’t come back but the rich codes started to appear. Took to mechanic & dealer & they couldn’t find the exact issue..

Anyone have these codes show up after changing out fuel injectors?
Should we check the new fuel injectors we put in as the mechanic we took to said they could not find any leaks, sensor issues, etc. they initially told us to take to the dealership because they believed it to be a PCM issue. Dealer updated PCM. Didn’t fix the issue… they also did a free diagnostic which could be why they didn’t find anything (maybe didn’t want to take much time to check thoroughly as it was free). They wanted to see if we needed a valve adjustment and agreed to waive the diagnostic if they found we needed the adjustment & agreed to do it there. Said it was good but van ran rich while idling but fine when driving and that was that!
Not sure where to go from here…

should we recheck the injectors????

P0301-P0304 misfire codes on these engines typically are VCM issues, which are solved short term by changing the plugs.

I have seen some in my area unfamiliar with this issue fire the parts cannon at it, and change the plugs injectors and coils in an attempt to resolve.
problem eventually resurfaces again.

related to your codes, you offer very little details like year, trim and mileage.

likely MAF or possibly O2

I haven't had these codes come up but O2 sensors control the air/fuel ratio most of the time. We could really use the year and mileage on the van as a start.

What was the source of those injectors? If they aren't OEM, I'd be suspect.

The injectors were unlikely the original source of the problem anyway. Replace the spark plugs and disable the VCM system (and probably put OEM fuel injectors back in there) and you'll be right as rain...

Sorry all. Inexperienced with making these posts!
Van is a 2012 Honda Odyssey. Mileage around 125xxx.

Original code from beginning of problems was MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 3 I believe?
We ended up just changing all spark plugs, coils, fuel injectors (ordered from RockAuto so I believe OEM?). Also changed MAF, EGR gasket, valve… many parts. Of course we just kept throwing money at it. Lol. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Unlikely! You have to make sure to get the right brand if/when you get stuff from RockAuto. Everything they sell is genuine to what they say it is, but not often OEM or OEM quality.

A non-OEM MAF will also play havoc on the engine and how it runs.

All you needed after the original P0303 code was new spark plugs (OEM / NGK) and disable the VCM system. Now it seems like you will be re-replacing a bunch of parts back to OEM or OEM quality...

Ahhh got it..
So I forgot that we originally did change the spark plugs after the misfire & it didn’t fix the issue so we then proceeded to do the fuel injectors.

Looking back our order on RockAuto, it says “OEM quality” or better than. But not OEM 😭 how/where do you get actual OEM parts?
