For any of you wondering, the Purolator One PL14459 does indeed fit on the J35Z8 engine we have in our 4th Gen Odysseys.
I usually use the PL14610 (Purolator-recommended size, 99.9% filtration at 40 microns) on my Odyssey, but I wanted to look into filters with a better micron rating. The PL14459 (99.9% at 20 microns, if the nerds at BITOG are correct) has a larger can OD and shorter length, but it has the same size threads and same diameter gasket surface as the PL14610. Figured I'd YOLO it in there. It works.
Given the larger can OD, I was afraid it would interfere with the oil filter housing/engine block, CV axle boot, or maybe even the harmonic balancer, but it clears all those with more than a finger's width. Granted, my fingers are rather small, but the oil filter housing itself comes closer to many of those components than this filter does.
I'll attach pics if I can, but if nothing else, I at least wanted to let y'all know it works. Hope it helps someone else who has the same question.
