There is some context here. Many groups on Reddit are going private to protest the views of the Reddit CEO regarding API pricing and he is being a dick about it. Most are doing it for a short time to raise awareness, others are going long term.

 

It's a Reddit-wide boycott, not just the one subreddit. This is not intended to be a permanent thing and is a fairly widespread thing right now on Reddit. It was initially supposed to be brief, but with Reddit not backing down on their API stance, many subreddits have now chosen to make it indefinite until Reddit offers better terms.

reddit has been @ss for years... if its any consolation I got banned from the CRV forum for calling the admin a moron for reviewing/moderating every hyperlinked post and image from me.

I've ended up logging out and taking the app off my phone. Now I need to do the same thing with YouTube and I won't have much reason to be on the thing so much
