Has anyone tried replacing the second row seats of a pre-refresh 5th gen (2018-2020) with those from a post refresh (2021+)?

I read that the pre-refresh second row seats don't fold flat, but the post refresh do. Just wondering if it's just a simple swap assuming you can get your hands on the 2021+ seats. That way at least you can get the benefits of the flat surface when second row seats are folded to stack boxes on top or whatever.

I don't know from "refresh" but my 2021 seats can only be removed,
there's no under-floor pocket to fold flat (not like the 3rd row). Mine
was bought in December 2020.
By fold flat we don't mean like the Pacifica. We mean just folding the seatback flat against the seat bottom.

We are talking about folding flat as in the rear side of the seat (where your back touches) folds flat to the butt facing side. We are not talking about fold flat like into the floor.

For the pre-refresh 5th gen (2018-2020 models), the seat back only folds down to about 45 degrees to the seat bottom and doesn't go all the way to touch the seat bottom. Your 2021 should. Is that correct?

I hope that makes sense.

I had this same thought when i saw the updated seats. Also wanted to get the black leather. maybe look into scrap yards for a totaled ody. Though that might require replacing seatbelts in the 2nd row seats.
Why would we have to replace seatbelts. It looks like the seatbelts are all self-contained within the seat correct? It doesn't even bolt on to the b pillar or the floor directly. I think it only attaches to the seat itself.

Darkhonda means if the seats are purchased from scrap yard where the original Ody was totaled from an accident, then there might be a need to replace the seat belts as the seats' original seat belts might be compromised from the accident.
