Before I lay down and get my van's transmission rebuilt or purchase an off the shelf reman., has anyone tried to install a used transmission out of a FWD Vue into an Odyssey? I know the drivetrain is the same, but are the transmissions interchangeable? I can pick up a Honda-built Vue 5-sp auto transmission with low miles for a fraction of a used or rebuilt Odyssey transmission.

Just want to clarify that it's only the Saturn Vue Redline that has the Honda engine and transmission. Are you comparing the price of a transmission from this model with an Odyssey's?

Don't be so sure that they're swapable unless you are SURE. Frequently deals like this have one party supplying same basic hardware they use in their own vehicles, but the other party uses their own wiring connectors and wiring logic. You may need an electrical engineer to custom build a harness or it could be plug and play. I can't tell you which, but you aren't safe assuming!

I own an '04 vue with the honda 3.5L and I own an '03 odyssey. This exact question has been nagging me; but I can assure you that they're not the exact same trans. The trans fluid dips stick on the vue is in front of the starter motor while the Odyssey dip stick is behind the starter motor. Additionally, the VUE has that 17mm fill nut on top of the trans while the '03 does not. I have not inspected mount locations and electrical solenoid locations, but I can say that they're not the exact same trans.
